The mission of the Tim Orth Memorial Foundation is to assist, financially or otherwise, children in the West Central Minnesota area who are facing substantial medical expenses incurred as a result of a serious accident or illness.
The first benefit was held in 1996 for a young athlete, Tim Orth, who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Many members of the community wanted to support the family and help with the major medical expenses they were facing.  After seeing how successful the 1996 benefit was, the decision was made to make it an annual event.  As a result, the Tim Orth Memorial Foundation was organized.
The Foundation is an all volunteer organization.  Its members invest countless hours organizing, soliciting and conducting the fundraisers for the recipients. Because of this, there are no administrative costs; ensuring 100% of the proceeds are used to help the selected recipients.
Throughout the years, many families have received financial assistance made possible by donations to this Foundation.  Over all, close to $1,000,000 has been raised.  The financial assistance, as well as the emotional support, is helping to reduce the daily challenges these kids and their families must endure.
The Tim Orth Memorial Foundation continues to receive support from numerous local and statewide businesses and organizations. The Minnesota Twins, Timberwolves, Gophers and Vikings are among the many. We hope that through the continued support of everyone involved, we will be able to make the Foundation's work successful for many years to come. While the financial donations can't guarantee miracles, they do provide hope for the recipients' families. Please consider making a donation and becoming a part of this special event.
